Part of your issue is that you can't see what you are doing. Wouldn't be great if you could just look at your feet to see what exactly you are doing? That way you could know if it is correct or not.
This drill is directed at proficient swimmers but don't let that stop you if you are leaning. As long as you can float on your back you can do this drill. It's fun and because you can see what you are doing you get immediate feedback on what your feet are doing, right or wrong.

Breaststroke Kick (Frog Kick) Problems?
A lot of people have trouble getting the breaststroke kick drill right when they are learning to swim. But you are not alone. There is a lot of time spent on the practice of the kick by proficient swimmers who want to get better.Part of your issue is that you can't see what you are doing. Wouldn't be great if you could just look at your feet to see what exactly you are doing? That way you could know if it is correct or not.
Breaststroke Kick Drill on Your Back
There is such a way. Just practice on your back. Surprisingly this is one of the easiest ways to fix the problem even when you have a coach or swim teacher. After all, there is nothing more frustrating than trying to do what you are asking and still have the teacher/coach say "no, do that do this".This drill is directed at proficient swimmers but don't let that stop you if you are leaning. As long as you can float on your back you can do this drill. It's fun and because you can see what you are doing you get immediate feedback on what your feet are doing, right or wrong.
